Settled
Well the hubs and I are finally settled in at his parents' house. We have been enjoying that last few days. I finally got all of the stuff put away and we are just looking around for our own place to live. Greg started his new teaching position today. I was really bored I haven't been getting around to doing any knitting, because we have so much other stuff that needed to be taken care of but now that I got everything set up I think that I can maybe finish a dishcloth I was working on and then start back up on those socks I started. Sorry this wasn't a very detailed message but I haven't really got anything else to tell you. Talk to you later....

First of the Pair
Well this is the same type of yarn but in a different color lot Indigo,
I think that I will knit this up for myself. I will probably do another pair of socks, but with a delicate
leaf pattern down the front of the foot.
This is my oldest cat Slinkie, he is trying to convince me that if I don't pet him he is going to jump all over the keyboard. I think that this is his idea of mind control, which must work because I always drop what I am doing to pet him when he looks at me like this. He sort of looks ticced off.
Well my mother and father are coming tomorrow to drop of a cargo trailer so that we can make this move in one day. They are going to take me and Greg to lunch to celebrate my upcoming 23rd birthday. It is on monday. I just wish that I was feeling better, my cold seems to have let up in certain areas but has moved to others, I now have a middle ear infection, caused by the cold itself, and I have pretty much lost my voice, it's all raspy and squeaky. But that won't stop me from talking (nothing will hehe). But physically I feel better, back to spring cleaning and packing for me. Greg and I are moving this coming thursday. It is coming so soon. Luckily I will still be able to blog regularly so that will be something that will be the same and hopefully help me to settle in nicely. Anyhoo I will talk to yall later....

Farewell
Well one of the dishcloths I was working on was tore up by our youngest cat Reeses. He even had the nerve to hide the evidence in an empty drawer. It's okay I wasn't sure that I was very fond of the colors together. He seems to always take things apart that I am unsure of. Maybe it was a sign. Maybe I should put away my things. Well I was going to start on Greg's sock yesterday but I was really sick. It came on all of a sudden. I was feeling good cleaning the kitchen, and I started to feel a little dizzy and then a little nautious and then I laid on the couch and was suddenly freezing cold and I have been getting worse since that point. Oh well, I am bummed though because my arms are barely strong enough to hold the needles and the yarn up. It is all I could do just to type this. I am getting a little nostalgic for the house though I am sad that we are going to have to say goodbye so soon. I will miss our first house. This is where we first brought two kitties home and made them part of our family. This is where we have memories, and this is where I taught myself to knit from the internet. I will miss this place.

Cranky!!
Sorry I just came upon the realization that I have been super cranky in my last few blogs. I haven't been talking about knitting and how much fun I am having with new projects cus' I haven't cast on for hardly anything and the stress that I'm building up from withdrawls.
I think that I will knit up some socks for the hubs with
this yarn.
This is premier yarns, Deborah Norville Collection, Serenity. It's 50% superwash Merino Wool, 25% bamboo and 25% nylon.
I am gonna do some plain stockinette stich with a ribbed cuff. The color is purple spice.
I am going to knit myself some socks later in the same type of yarn but in a indigo color. I think I will do a leaf pattern or something lacy and femine.
I hope this is a little more cheerful then what I posted earlier.

New Neighbors!
Well we got new neighbors last week and well they seem nice. It is a Mother with a two year old girl, and 18 year old son, and his girlfriend. They older kid (I don't know why I call him a kid I am just about to turn 23 where do I get off?) came down to borrow a can opener (they lost theirs in the move) he was very polite and introduced himself (although I can't remember his name, maybe I am getting old). But they are so loud. We have lived here for 4 years this March, and we have had four sets of neighbors each one consistently louder than the last. The first set was a waitress at a bar who had deliquent kids climbing downt the gutters at all hours of the night, meanwhile she brought home several different boyfriends. We have had the family of 7, two parents and 5 kids. They were the drama queens. Then we had a mother, father , and daughter upstairs who had huge Rotweilers who sounded like stampeding elephant upstairs. And now the new neighbors, who have a screaming (not like a normal screaming two year old trust me) baby and an older brother who yells at the top of his lungs at her, and there are two parking spaces in the driveway and several on the street (we live on the corner) and for the three adult they have 4 cars, two huge dodge pickups, a huge boaty car and another little white thing. Meanwhile with all the parking spots G and I can't even park in front of our house, we can hardly get out of the driveway. They have a dog (don't get me wrong I love dogs) that barks at all hours. Let's just say that I wish the Landlords would have more consideration for the long term tenants. But it doesn't matter because we move next week. I also have not been working on anything in particular, I have been working on a sock but it looks terribl
e.
I will leave you with these two...

Revelation!!!!
Well I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to get on the computer and look up knitting stuff (oh don't act like you don't do it) and I stumbled upon knitting two socks at the same time on Knitty.com. And I sat there thinking how the heck do you do that. But a half an hour later I had this...
Now you see the lighter colored yarn (sorry for blurriness) that is the inside sock and the green is the outside sock. Traditionally you would knit them in the same yarn, but it makes it easier to learn the process if you have two different colored yarns.
As long as you keep you working yarns separated then the socks will stay separated. I think this techniques is very cool once I get past the heel I will post some more about it.

I'm Soooo Lazy!!!
The boys have been more than willing to help me pack by gaurding the boxes so no one will move them.

As you can see Slinkie takes his job very seriously never ever leaving the boxes to do personal tasks. He does everything right here.
He is sleeping on my box that has my sewing machine and fabrics and whatnot. I tell you the thing that I hate about packing the most is trying to decide whether you need something up until the last minute or if it could be packed right away. And 9 out 10 times I have decided there won't be any time to use it so pack it now and then I tape the box up. Meanwhile I am feeling good about myself I just banged out another box and then I need to patch a quilt and everything is in the box and so... RIP into the box to retrieve the necessary items.
Now Reeses he doesn't take the job as seriously he isn't anywhere near his designated area. He is sunbathing in the window and enjoying his little hiatus. From what I don't know... He likes to sleep on the boxes too, but as far as he's concerned Slinkie is holding down the fort just fine without him.
He has been doing much better. I haven't had any kids at my house for about a week and he seems to be enjoying the peace and quiet.
Well I finished the other pair of mittens. I like the way they turned out. These are nice because they go with just about everything that I own. And yet they have little flecks of color in them. I
decided to knit them in the a cotton yarn, because they are a little lighter and so my hands don't get sweaty. They wash up really nice as well which is good since I wear them outside all the time.
Here is the start to those pink socks I am knitting. I don't like this picture but I just can't seem to find a better exposure in the house for this color of socks. They are Hot pink if you can't tell.
As I look at this picture I realize that I really need to take some time to sand down my hobby desk and restain it. It looks awful. But I like the socks so far I picked the color because I usually wear a lot of nuetrals and plain clothes but I like my socks to be a lot of fun. So I haven't decided whether to add any fun pattern to the leg of them or not or whether I will just let the color be the fun part. Let me know what you think.
