Hello...

Well, I have been so sick these last couple of days, I am still running a fever but I am getting stir crazy, I am still watching kids at my house even though I keep telling the kids' mom that I am sick, seems to go through one ear and out the other. I am just trying to be positive, I keep telling myself that I am lucky because her kid is easy to handle, he is nice and quiet when I want him to be and when you put him down for naps he takes nice long ones. I have been working on G's hat again, I went braindead and was totally doing it all wrong, I got several rows into it before I realized it. I am going to knit myself some more mittens, I am also going to get back to work on those socks I planned on doing before. I also am stressed because we have approximately 19- 30 days left before we move depending on how G's finals schedule lines up in March. So I have been going through the closets and moving things around and deciding what stays and goes, what gets donated and thrown out. I am finding out that I need many more boxes and I am stressed because we cannot get my car to do anything, and I am not going to leave it here. Anyhoo everything has been going really well other than being a little stressed. I will get back to you soon hopefully I will be feeling a little better. bye

Well I finished the dish cloth and I am starting another one, this time in cream and brick red.

I started casting on for G's hat and, then went to bed last night and woke up to find my knitting across the whole house and the yarn led to the needles like a little trail. Reeses decided to bring the yarn and everything to me and G last night because he wanted to play. So I recasted on this morning and having starting the round.

I can't believe that G and I are moving so soom, we haven't told the Landlord yet because the people who live next door told them they were moving in late Marchearly April and they have had to let people (potential renters) come through their house several times a week. I know that it sounds kind of dishonest because they need to find renters, but the last people who rented and then moved told them they were thinking of moving and they found new renters and when the original tenants decided not to move they were asked to leave. And that isn't in the contract but they didn't want to casue bad feelings so they were forced to find a new home. I just want to be able to pack up and get the house back to rights without a ton of strangers strolling through and making it difficult. So we are going to wait a couple more weeks and then tell them so we can get this done with as little stress as possible.

I need to start looking for new work soon since we are moving. I am a little worried about that. I have student loans to start paying off. And we want to buy a house soon and start a family so we are trying to go about this in the best way.

Hmmm?

Well I am sitting at the computer and knitting a dishcloth which I realized that I needed more of last nite while I was cleaning the kitchen. I am knitting a different pattern this time I hope you like it. I got it off of Ravelry, I believe it is on knitting pattern central as well. I just picked out the colors that would go with my kitchen and here we go...

I am slowly coming around on the socks I casted on for two days ago. I am not sure how I feel about them yet. I might rip it out and start again. Something doesn't seem quite right about them. I am going to cast on for another hat for G here maybe later today. Just a simple hat but I think that it will be very nice. I am not new to Ravelry but I constantly find it helpful and I love seeing what others are working on. I am very thankful to creators for starting it, and it make things so much easier and fun.

I get such a kick out of these two, I am sure that it bores others but I just laugh at them they do the silliest things. Reeses weighs 15 pounds and he shouldn't be able to get into that darn bowl. And Slinkie is notorious for laying right where you need to be, because that puts him in the best spot for lovin'.

FRIDAY!!!!

I am so happy I get a day off tomorrow. Well as long as everything goes to plan... I would love to spend Valentines Day with G by myself and not have to take care of someone else's kid, at least for a little while.


Seqouia (a kid I take care of) and I are sitting here waiting for some rice to finish cooking on the stove. We are making cheesey rice mmmmmm. He is of course sitting in his chair in the appropriate manner with his seat to the seat and back to the back.

Oh to be young and flexible. He is a cute little bugger isn't he? I take care of him 5 days a week, him and his sister Tasha on Saturdays and on Sundays I watch him, Tasha, James, and Michelle, they are all brothers and sisters. The bummer is they are kind of hard on my cats Slinkie and Reeses, they are actually developing anxiety problems, so I am working really hard to make a space for them to be separated from the kids. I had to take the cats to the vet and the vet gave them a cortical steroid shot it will make their anxiety levels more normal. Luckily we are moving next month so I probably won't have kids in the house anymore, will either work at a center or will have a separate building for my child care. I love watching kids and working from home, but the cats are my babies and I don't want to cause them any stress. I think when G and I start having kids it will be different because Slinkie and Reeses will get used to them gradually and I plan on making sure my kids know how to handle pets properly.

Anyhoo... I have not knit anything for a while, I don't know what is wrong with me becasue I can actually feel myself getting more stressed when I don't do it but I just don't seem to make any time for it. I am almost finished with that cowl, I need to add a button row and then block it. I am going to knit some more mittens for myself, and some socks. I want to send some hats and mittens out to a donation or a local church here somewhere but I am not sure which is good and which one really needs them.

I need to go get some boxes from the grocery store for packing up our stuff. Sooo much to do so little time....

mittens and now a cowl

Mittens are done and I thought my goodness I haven't written anything in a while, so I better show what they look like and then tell you about what has been going on here.

Here is the pattern for these:

Needles: size 7 US double points

Yarn: Anything worsted weight, something soft about 75 yards give or take.

Stitch marker: 1 for beginning round and 2 for the gusset.

Cast on 32 stitches

row 1-12: k2, p2 ribbing

row 13: knit around

row 14: knit around

Gusset:

Setup: knit 16, place marker, increase 1, knit 1, increase 1, place marker, knit to the end of the round.

Row 1: knit around

Row 2: knit around

Row 3: Knit 16, slip marker, increase 1, knit to next marker and increase 1, slip marker, knit to the end of round.

Repeat rows 1-3 until there is 13 stitches between the gusset markers, row 18 since ribbing.

Knit around slipping all markers

Next round: knit to marker, remove marker, begin binding off until next marker, remove marker knit to the end of the round.

Knit 7 rounds plain

work 9-12 rounds of k2, p2 ribbing bind of loosely. repeat for next mitten

Well on Sunday I had all the kids here and they were of course "behaving" themselves (haha) anyhoo, well somehow or other my toilet got clogged and I don't know what got flushed down the toilet but lets just say it didn't belong in there. Lets get past that gross part, so my husband G and I spent hours trying to plunge it and plunge it some more. Well are landlords have an emergency line that (which they never answer) you can call if you need to ask them something or get something repaired. Well G called and got a hold of someone right away (I almost passed out) Bob The Landlord. Bob was ticced that we had called and was like just live with it, turns out he was mad that we disturbed him during the Super Bowl. Well my being so polite and shy I said loudly (so that Bob could here me as well) "Well if he doesn't come up with something I am going to go over to his house and use his toilet." Bob of course being the generous soul he is said "No, No, no I'll find someone to come fix it for you. He calls back and says that we need to call Roto Rooter becasue no one wants to come help us. Meanwhile I've got four kids who all pee like fifty times a day and they are getting cranky that there isn't a toilet. So we call Roto Rooter and they are like we'll get someone right out to you. 3 phonecalls later and 5 hours go by and still no Roto Rooter. So the kids go home and G and I make a run to Jack in The Box to use the bathroom (2nd time that day) and then we go to bed. Monday bright and early G goes to work and I get up to wait for Sequoia (I take care of him during the week) to come (and complain about the toilet hehe). So Bob calls and asks if RR came or not I tell him NOT! They have found a pipe snake and we can borrow it but I have to come and get it and it is like a half and hour drive. Well my car decided it wanted a rest from driving and didn't start so I had to go back and call Bob and tell him that my car won't start, he proceeds to tell me that my husband can come get it, I told him that would mean waiting until 4'oclock that evening. He was all for that plan, I said this in my politest, shyest voice, "No I am running a child care out of my house I have been waiting since yesterday for the toilet to start working I cannot wait anymore either you have someone bring it here or I am going to call an expensive plumber and then take it out of what I owe you for rent!!!!! So he generously sent his wife out to give it to me. It took me and hour and half and I finally fixed it and then had to wait til' G was home before I could go give it back to them. All in all I was in pretty high spirits.

Cold hands!!!!

Well I decided to make myself some fingerless mittens so that my hands won't get so cold during the day. I work at home and even when I have the heater on my hands still freeze. I am using the leftover yarn I have from my father and father-in-laws hats. It is Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted weight yarn in wheat color. I finished G's hat finally it looks great I washed and dried it.

I am watching four kids today all of them are brothers and sisters. They are playing a lego game where they send one kid out of the room, the others build something then the one kid comes back in blindfolded and they have to give him verbal directions to build a copy of the they built. They are laughing up a storm because they keep getting left and right confused.
